Emotion Focused Therapy (also known as Emotionally Focused Therapy or emotionally focused therapy EFT) is a clinically proven and effective process for helping couples alter negative patterns of interaction. This therapy is based on research of adult attachment needs for safe secure relationships.
I primarily use Emotion Focused Therapy (EFT) for individual therapy. EFT is a highly researched and clinically proven therapy for personal change. Contrary to some therapy approaches that support minimizing or marginalizing emotion, EFT supports achieving a clear understanding of your emotions, regulating them when necessary, and using emotion to determine what you need in the present moment. This supports resilience and clearer decision making which leads to resolution of previously troubling thoughts, behaviors and relationship interactions.
